A New Opportunity for Adults with SEND in Warrington

Last week marked an exciting milestone for the Warrington Wolves Community Foundation as we officially launched our brand-new Day Provision for Adults with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) at The Halliwell Jones Stadium.

Led by Amelia and our dedicated team, the Day Provision opened its doors to its first group of learners, offering a safe, supportive, and inspiring space where individuals can build skills, explore creativity, and focus on their health and wellbeing. The programme will also create stronger connections with the wider Warrington community, ensuring learners feel valued and included in the life of the town.

Amelia explained:
"This new service will provide Adults with Learning Disabilities opportunities and experiences in Skills Building, Creative Arts, and Wellbeing as well as developing strong, continuous links with our wider community. We can't wait to welcome more new learners over the coming months – if this seems like something for you or somebody you know, find out how to secure your space now by emailing me at AmeliaTitchard@WarringtonWolvesFoundation.com

Meeting a Local Need

The launch of this service comes at an important time for Warrington. Families and carers across the town have long expressed the need for more opportunities for adults with SEND beyond traditional education settings. Many young people transition out of school or college with limited options available for continuing their personal development, building independence, or accessing social opportunities.

This Day Provision directly addresses that need. It provides a pathway for adults with SEND to continue growing, learning, and contributing to their community, while giving families peace of mind that their loved ones are supported in a safe and inclusive environment.

The Power of the Badge

At the heart of this initiative is the power of the badge. The Warrington Wolves badge represents more than just rugby – it represents belonging. Through this new provision, we want every learner to feel part of the pack, even if they’ve never picked up a ball or watched a game. By opening doors through the Foundation’s connection to the club, we can create experiences that promote inclusion, pride, and identity for all.

Creating Long-Term Impact

The benefits of the Day Provision go far beyond the classroom. By nurturing skills, confidence, and independence, it will empower adults with SEND to play a greater role in their community. At the same time, it helps Warrington become a happier, healthier, and more inclusive town – a place where everyone, regardless of ability, has the chance to thrive.

This is the start of something truly special, and we are excited to see the positive ripple effect it will have for learners, families, and the whole community in the years ahead.
