On Sunday, 18th August, a determined group of 30 individuals took on the challenge of a lifetime as part of the Warrington Wolves Community Foundation’s Snowdon Sunrise event. This unforgettable experience tested the participants' endurance and showcased the incredible power of community spirit, raising over £4,000 for our foundation's vital work.

The adventure began on Saturday evening, as our group gathered at the Village Hotel Warrington at 8 pm to watch the Warrington Wolves take on Leeds Rhinos. Fueled by the excitement of the game and a hearty meal generously provided by the Village Hotel, our walkers were ready for the journey ahead.

Shortly after the match, we embarked on the drive to Snowdon, arriving at the base of the mountain at 2 am. With headlamps on and spirits high, we began our ascent into the darkness. The climb was tough, but the anticipation of witnessing the sunrise from the summit kept everyone motivated.

By 6 am, we reached the summit of Snowdon, where we were greeted by a cold, cloudy morning. Though the hoped-for sunrise was hidden behind a thick layer of clouds, the sense of achievement and camaraderie among the group was undeniable. We braved the chilly air, taking in the surreal atmosphere of being atop the highest peak in Wales, before beginning our descent.

After the challenging trek down, we arrived back at our cars by 8:30 am, tired but exhilarated.

We are deeply grateful to our business patrons—C4, Hotpod Yoga, and Altum HR—whose unwavering support and participation were instrumental in the success of this event. A special thank you also goes to the Walk and Talk podcast team for joining us on the walk, adding meaningful conversations and helping to spread the word about our cause.

Together, we’ve proven that when a community comes together, there’s no mountain too high to climb. Thank you to everyone who participated, supported, and made this incredible journey possible!
