At the Warrington Wolves Foundation, we believe in the power of young people. They bring fresh ideas, contagious energy, and a genuine passion for making a difference. As we celebrate National Volunteering Week, we’re putting the spotlight on our incredible young volunteers — the rising stars of our community.
Young, Driven, and Making a Difference
From helping out at rugby festivals and disability sports sessions to supporting wellbeing events and holiday camps, our young volunteers are at the heart of what we do. Many of them join us as part of their Duke of Edinburgh Award, college placement, or simply because they want to give something back to their community.
And what they give is huge.
“The young volunteers have a real spark,” says Abigail Titchard, Volunteer Coordinator at the Foundation. “They bring energy and enthusiasm, but also a genuine care for the people they’re supporting. It’s inspiring to watch.”
Building Confidence and Skills for Life
Volunteering doesn’t just benefit the community — it helps our young people grow, too. Through their experience, they gain confidence, learn teamwork, and develop leadership skills that stay with them for life.
“I joined as I wanted to try something new that would not only benefit me but also help those that have the same opportunities that I have” says Harriet, 17, one of our young volunteers. “They deserve to have all the opportunities that we get and by helping over the years I have enabled that and it’s the best feeling in the world”
Several of our former young volunteers have gone on to careers in sport, education, and community work — many even return to mentor the next generation, having over 6 staff members who started as young volunteers here!
"I joined as I love sports so much and I think it is so important that everyone has the chance to play sports and be part of the team and it is so good to help out and I love it. It is so good to see people's smiles after helping at sessions and Friday evenings are the highlight of my week." - Noah, 15, one of our young volunteers.
Join the Movement
If you’re a young person who wants to make a difference, meet new people, and build your confidence, volunteering with the Warrington Wolves Foundation could be the perfect first step.
No experience needed — just a positive attitude and a willingness to get stuck in.
Whether it’s a few hours a week or just helping at events, we welcome all young people who want to be part of something meaningful.
