Leading UK male weight loss programme extends its reach in rugby with a collaboration with Warrington Wolves foundation

Man vs Fat (16x9)

MAN v FAT, the UK’s leading male weight loss programme, is to partner with the Warrington Wolves Foundation to support men in the town to take steps to improve their health and wellbeing.  Having supported tens of thousands of men to lose over 800,000lbs of weight since they got started in 2014, MAN v FAT picked up the oval ball in 2024 to further spread the word on male wellbeing.

And Warrington is set to become one of the latest launches in MAN v FAT Rugby, with the club getting underway in June at Victoria Park.

Karl White, from MAN v FAT’s HQ team said: ‘’Since the initial meeting with James at the Warrington Wolves Foundation, I was keen to ensure we work in collaboration with them. The passion they have to make a difference in their community is unquestionable. MAN v FAT already have a very successful Football Club operating in the town, and we hope this partnership will enable us to replicate this success, just with a different shaped ball’’.

The Warrington Wolves Foundation promotes inclusivity, well-being, and empowerment through a range of impactful initiatives and the team there are pleased to be adding MAN v FAT Rugby to their mix.

James Howes, Health & Wellbeing Manager at the Wolves Foundation commented;

"We’re thrilled to be partnering with MAN v FAT Rugby to bring this innovative initiative to Warrington. At the Foundation, we’re passionate about using the power of sport to change lives, and this aligns perfectly with our mission to improve the physical, mental and social wellbeing of our community. We can’t wait to see the positive impact this will have on the men who take part."

Having launched a number of clubs at the tail end of 2024, the MAN v FAT team are already seeing successes on the scales in their Rugby clubs too – and Karl is confident that similar achievements will be made in Warrington: “MAN v FAT Football succeeds off the back of a strong community feel and we know that community is a reason why rugby clubs up and down the country prosper.

“We have already seen some strong friendships built in our initial Rugby clubs and are looking forward to seeing this unfold in Warrington too.”

As with MAN v FAT Football, rugby participants would need to be aged 18+ with a BMI of 27.5 or higher to get started. More details about the programme and how to register can be found at
