At the Warrington Wolves Community Foundation, we believe in creating a happier, healthier and more connected town — and disability sport is at the heart of that mission.
From the passion of our Physical Disability Rugby League (PDRL) team to the power and pace of our Wheelchair Rugby League squad, we’re proud to support two incredible programmes that represent everything our community stands for: inclusion, opportunity, pride and belonging.
As we continue to grow disability rugby in Warrington, we’re taking a major step forward.
In February 2026, we’re launching dedicated social media channels for PDRL and Wheelchair Rugby League, giving both teams a professional platform they truly deserve.
And to bring this vision to life…
We’re looking for a Volunteer Social Media Manager.
Why This Role Matters
This isn’t just a job — it’s a chance to shape a brand-new digital identity from day one.
Our disability teams are full of stories worth telling:
-
players overcoming barriers
-
teammates forming lifelong bonds
-
epic matchdays and fierce competition
-
unforgettable behind-the-scenes moments
-
personal journeys that inspire the whole town
The new Social Media Manager will be responsible for capturing the energy, personality and pride of our teams and sharing it with the world. This role will help showcase disability rugby league to new audiences, celebrate the achievements of our players and coaches, and strengthen the connection between the teams and the community they represent.
What the Role Involves
The Social Media Manager will lead the new Instagram and Facebook channels dedicated to PDRL and Wheelchair Rugby League. They’ll be on the ground at training sessions, fixtures, events and interviews — filming, photographing and creating exciting content that shows what disability rugby is all about.
From matchday highlights to player spotlights, behind-the-scenes training clips to inspirational stories, this role is all about bringing people closer to the action.
You’ll work closely with both team managers, as well as the Foundation’s communications lead, to ensure the coverage is accurate, balanced and consistent. And with the channels set to launch in February, you’ll have the opportunity to shape the first posts, first videos, and the first impression these new platforms make.
Who We’re Looking For
You don’t need to be a rugby expert.
You don’t need years of professional experience.
What matters most is:
-
creativity
-
confidence behind a camera
-
passion for storytelling
-
a genuine commitment to inclusion
-
the ability to connect with people
If you love sport, enjoy making short-form videos, and want a role that actually makes a difference — this could be your perfect next step.
Why This Is More Than Just Content
Our disability teams are more than squads — they are communities. They create belonging for people who may never have seen themselves represented in sport. They provide competition for those with a hunger to play. They build confidence, friendship and pride in ways that change lives.
This role helps share that.
This role helps grow that.
This role helps champion that.
By building strong digital coverage, we strengthen pathways, attract new players, bring in new fans and ensure disability rugby league has the visibility it deserves locally and nationally.
