The Warrington Wolves Foundation and LiveWire and have joined forces to offer the men and women of Warrington a chance to join a beginner’s fitness and weight loss programme.
Fit to Tackle is tailored to the needs of each participant, with a focus on group development and creating a supportive environment. The 12-week programme explores topics such as sugar content in food, portion sizes and exercise programmes that you can do anywhere, including the comfort of your own home. The project also includes a t-shirt, regular health checks by trained professionals and a stadium tour.
There is a £10 registration fee to join the programme which includes 24 instructor led sessions at the Halliwell Jones Stadium and Orford Jubilee Neighbourhood Hub and an all-inclusive LiveWire weekend membership during the 12 weeks.
Fit to Tackle incorporates the latest scientific approaches to weight loss, physical activity and diet and taps into the resources of a professional Rugby League club to engage overweight and obese people in sustained weight loss. Participants must be aged between 25 and 35 years old, have a BMI of over 30 and be available to attend all 3 activity sessions each week.
