Working in partnership with Warrington Borough Council, the Wolves Foundation offer a free mental health training programme called Connect 5.
The course is accredited by the Royal Society of Public Health and is delivered by a range of local accredited trainers, helping to build the confidence, skills and competencies required to have conversations about mental health and wellbeing. As an evidence-based training workshop, individuals are provided with tools to empower others to build resilience and develop self-care strategies.
Connect 5 is suitable for anyone who would like to offer support to individuals to improve their emotional wellbeing.
The purpose of the training is to;
- Develop the skills and confidence to discuss mental health and wellbeing issues
- Explain mental health and wellbeing by using specific public health models and self-help principles
- Identify local mental health and wellbeing resources and services that support the community
Connect 5 is an incremental 3-session programme, introducing new elements each time. The workshops support the ‘Every Contact Counts’ framework to utilise the skills of those regularly interacting with people in their professional role or as a volunteer.
