This year has been a transformative one for our women’s-only touch rugby sessions. From their humble beginnings to becoming a thriving hub of connection, learning, and empowerment, the growth we’ve seen has been extraordinary. Open to all skill levels, our sessions have created a space where women can enjoy rugby, develop their skills, and form lasting connections.
We began our journey in February with just five attendees at our very first session. It was a modest start, but we remained patient and focused on building something meaningful. Over time, word spread, and the enthusiasm of our participants became our most powerful tool for growth.
Today, our weekly sessions regularly attract around 16 to 20 participants—a significant leap from where we started. Even more impressively, 51 unique women have joined us on the pitch this year, each bringing their energy, curiosity, and enthusiasm to the game.
Our sessions are designed to be development-focused, catering to players of all experience levels. Whether someone is holding a rugby ball for the first time or bringing years of expertise to the pitch, they’ll find a welcoming environment to grow and thrive.
One of the standout features of our sessions is the blend of experience levels:
This mix has made our sessions as much about community as they are about the sport itself.
Looking back on the year, it’s clear that the success of our women’s-only touch rugby sessions is about more than just numbers—it’s about the impact we’ve had on the lives of those who’ve joined us. Highlights from 2024 include:
The journey of our women’s-only touch rugby sessions has only just begun. As we look ahead to 2025, our goals include:
