Warrington's best kept secret

I've known of the Wolves Foundation for 18 years - which convenient because today is the Foundation's 18th birthday.

I've long admired what the Foundation does in the local community and the impact their multitude of projects have had on people in Warrington.  But, I must confess that I'd always admired from a slight distance, knowing about some of the projects, but not all.

So, when I was asked to be a Trustee, I was keen to get a better understanding of everything the Foundation does.  I spent time with the key people, and realised that despite the small team size, the sheer volume of projects delivered meant that no single person had a holistic view of all of the projects.

I called this the  Foundation Marketecture (a portmanteau of Marketing and Architecture) as it describes to the outside world all of the good stuff that the Foundation does.

Over Christmas 2022, I set the team some homework to build a big spreadsheet that described each project in detail - who it is aimed at and what benefit it brings.  We categorised and sorted the projects into a clear structure so give a single view of the what the Foundation delivers.

I was blown away that 14 delivery people and bunch of volunteers could deliver that volume of goodness.  Telling my friend about it over a beer, I found myself saying that it was Warrington's best kept secret.

Next step - a new website that shares this with everyone and showcases this secret so that more people can participate and celebrate the Foundation Goodness.

The launch of a new website is often seen as the end point of a project.  But I like to thing of it as the start of something that can be built on.

So, this is Blog #1 of the new website and I'm hoping that it will be followed by stories that showcase more Foundation goodness and revelations of more secret projects that ought to be out in the open.

Why not become a Business Patron ?
