Following our recognition in the prestigeous club and foundations end of year awards, achieving "Project of the year 2025" it was important to us as a team that we both celebrate our successes and inform the wider staff in the foundation and at the club about the work we do on the project.
With collaboration from Karl Fitzpatrick and Shaun Briscoe and attended by club staff, community activators and managers along with Tom Kearney from Warrington in Mind and the Mayor himself, Mo Hussain, the team delivered Ahead of the Game "Help out a Mate" to show "what we do and how we do it" for our young people in schools and in community club settings.
The session itself highlights the importance of recognising the signs and symptoms of anxiety and depression in your teammates and yourself and staff and guests got fully involved in the experience throughout.
We hope that with our delivery and with staff and delegates advocating for the good work we are doing in Warrington and the wider areas, we can help young people, coaches and parents start conversations earlier around mental health by being a smart ALEC (Ask, Listen, Encourage action and Check in later)
The Ahead of the Game team would like to thank all staff for their involvement and willingness to contribute to our shared vision of a happier, healthier and more connected Warrington.
