Warrington Wolves Community Foundation is proud to announce that it has been selected as one of the Mayor of Warrington's official charities for the 2026/27 civic year.

The Foundation will join Warrington Visual Impaired People, Warrington Disability Partnership and Warrington Charities Trust as the four charities chosen by the new Mayor of Warrington, Councillor Sagheer Zaman, during his mayoral term. Councillor Zaman was formally appointed as the 142nd Mayor of Warrington in May and has made promoting unity and inclusion as a central focus of his year in office.

As the charitable arm of Warrington Wolves, the Foundation has spent more than 20 years delivering programmes that improve the lives of people across the borough through sport, education, health and wellbeing, disability inclusion and community engagement. The organisation now delivers more than 30 projects that help create a happier, healthier and more connected Warrington.

Lee Mitchell, General Manager of Warrington Wolves Community Foundation, said:

"We are incredibly honoured to have been selected as one of the Mayor's Charities for the coming year. This recognition reflects the dedication of our staff, volunteers, participants and supporters who work tirelessly to make a positive difference across Warrington every day.

"We look forward to working closely with the Mayor throughout his term and supporting fundraising initiatives that will help us continue changing lives through the power of the Warrington Wolves badge. Together, we can create even more opportunities for people across our town to become happier, healthier and more connected."

The Foundation engages thousands of residents every year through a diverse range of programmes, from disability sport and youth engagement to health and wellbeing initiatives, education programmes and community projects designed to tackle isolation and improve quality of life.

As one of the Mayor's chosen charities, the Foundation will benefit from fundraising activities and civic events organised throughout the mayoral year, helping to raise both vital funds and awareness of its work within the local community.

The Foundation would like to thank Councillor Zaman for his support and looks forward to working alongside the Mayor and the other selected charities during the year ahead.
