Coaching opportunity!

Warrington Wolves Player Development Pathway: Coaching opportunity

Following the first year of the Warrington Wolves Player Development Pathway, we are looking for a small number of passionate and committed community coaches to join our program.

The program runs across the full academic year, with a monthly commitment from as little as 2 hours. You will be coaching players from across the North West and Cumbria, helping them to develop technical skill, tactical awareness, and mental attributes. The program is a mixture of both training and playing opportunities against other clubs ETP programmes. following it’s launch in February 2022, Warrington Wolves’ Player Development Pathway has provided training opportunities for 684 players from across Warrington, the Northwest, Cumbria, and Wales to train and be coached in a professional club environment.

The players joined us from forty-six different community clubs, with some travelling over two and a half hours to join in the sessions! These coaching roles are voluntary, and coaches will be rewarded with the experience of coaching within a professional club, alongside a personalised formal coach development plan.

The Player Development Pathway can also be a stepping stone to those with a desire to coach within the professional game, following the 2022 program local community coach Mark Smith was invited in to coach on the club’s scholarship program. Mark said;

PDP has been a great opportunity for players from the community to hone their skills against players from across the region! The players are presented with a mixture of coaching styles delivering specific detail to help develop their skills and take this back to their community clubs.

Alex provides an excellent structure with the program allowing both player and coach development! Coaches are encouraged to reflect and evaluate coaching with regular feedback to develop further with their coaching. This has allowed me to progress on my coaching pathway onto coaching on our scholarship program!

Coaches currently working within local community rugby league clubs are desirable, however out of town applications will also be considered.

To apply, please complete the application form below before midnight on September 21st;
